Bros Mario

The reason I am asking is because I teach kids ages 5 to 10 years old. I am wanting to make the things they are learning more fun by incorporating it in a life-size version of the first original Mario Bros. game from Nintendo. I'm concerned that even though most older people are familiar with the game the younger generation won't have a clue what I'm talking about.
I recently fixed my old Nintendo system and was playing the original Mario bros game with my 9 year old sister.She is familiar with it now. I do like to share the video games I enjoyed as a kid and let her play them. I kept my NES and the Nintendo 64 so my sister gets to play what I used to play when I was younger. As long as we share what we enjoyed with the younger generation it will not be lost.And to the person above me just because a child gets interested in video games doesn't mean that he or she will not be interested in reading. My sister also enjoys reading.
