We recently downloaded Super Mario Bros 2 on our console Wii, but can not figure out how to save the match. Each time we die, we must start at Level 1. Does anyone knows how to save the game? We have the Wii Remote and Classic Controller.
SMB2 did not have a backup feature of it (very few games NES is), so the Virtual Console version does not. All games except for those VC N64 can do a "Save the State" by entering the house and go to Wii Menu. By doing this, when you play the game again, you must start from the exact same as you exit the last time. However, if you ever decide to leave the Wii menu again it will overwrite with a new state saving, so if you want to keep this state save and use again you must shut down the system without leaving the game VC.
